Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous rap tracks that tackled sexuality and identity with a boldly comedic perspective before expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came in the form of the trumpet. After that, she took the classical and hip-hop genres. In college she focused in her studies, pursuing a degree in women's journalism and the arts. For a brief period that was spent in Beijing, she also studied Mandarin. It wasn't until she began focusing in music until she finished her degree. After becoming famous on the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on her first album Yellow Ranger. The album included other viral hits like the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$1. This track was directly linked with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. The singer decided to pursue a career as an actor following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. Along with the early TV shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. Her breakthrough came during the year 2018, appearing in a handful of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she published the EP in Fina We Trust.
