Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. She started her Broadway career with musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent her professional career working with highly acclaimed actors and directors in stage as well as television. She continues that award-winning work with many upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani, Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's latest film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is set to be a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford returns to Broadway in the month of March 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment inspired by the crisis in America that picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceeding in nearly a century. She was part of the cast for two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway credits includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the original role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born in Denver and now lives split between Los Angeles & New York.
